Early Childhood Teacher Bright Start Child Care Ministry Columbus, Indiana 47201 Full-Time | Monday-Friday | Starting at $16.00/hour Build a Career Making a Difference in the Lives of Children Bright Start Child Care Ministry is seeking a dependable, nurturing, and motivated Early Childhood Teacher who wants to do more than simply supervise children. Our teachers are early childhood educators. They build meaningful relationships with children, create engaging learning experiences, support social-emotional development, and provide the nurturing environment young children need to learn and grow. Schedule & Compensation Starting Pay:
$16.00 per hour

Monday-Friday Expected Shift:
8:00 AM-5:00 PM or 9:00 AM-6:00
PM Location:
Columbus, Indiana What You'll Do As an Early Childhood Teacher, you will:
  • Create a safe, nurturing, organized, and engaging classroom environment
  • Actively interact, play, talk, read, and engage with children throughout the day
  • Lead developmentally appropriate learning experiences and activities
  • Support children's social and emotional development
  • Help children learn appropriate classroom behaviors and social skills
  • Provide responsive care for children's individual needs
  • Assist with feeding, diapering, toileting, handwashing, and other daily routines as appropriate for the age group
  • Maintain active supervision and ensure children's safety at all times
  • Communicate professionally with parents and families
  • Document children's daily activities using the center's communication app
  • Work cooperatively with a co-teacher and share classroom responsibilities
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom
  • Participate in required training and professional development
  • Follow Bright Start policies and applicable Indiana child care requirements Who We're Looking For We're especially interested in candidates who:

  • Understand or are interested in learning about child development and developmentally appropriate practices Early childhood education, CDA coursework, college coursework in education, or previous experience working with young children is strongly preferred.
Candidates without formal early childhood experience may be considered if they demonstrate exceptional reliability, professionalism, and a strong commitment to developing a career in early childhood education.
Minimum Requirements Candidates must:
  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Be available for full-time Monday-Friday employment
  • Successfully complete all required background checks
  • Have dependable transportation
  • Be able to perform the essential physical responsibilities of an early childhood classroom, with or without reasonable accommodation, including sitting on the floor, kneeling, bending, squatting, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, and lifting or carrying children as necessary Is Bright Start Right for You?
