Duties Develop and implement age-appropriate curricula that incorporate early childhood education principles, including literacy education, math, physical education, and Montessori methods. Foster a safe, inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity, independence, and social interaction among children. Manage daily classroom routines, including circle time, play activities, snack time, and nap schedules. Utilize effective classroom management strategies to promote positive behavior and address behavioral challenges with patience and consistency. Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding children's progress, developmental milestones, and any concerns related to child welfare or special education needs. Conduct assessments using standardized testing methods to monitor developmental progress and tailor instruction accordingly. Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws and maintain accurate documentation of incidents or concerns related to child safety or welfare. Collaborate with colleagues to plan interdisciplinary lessons and participate in ongoing professional development in early intervention techniques and childhood development instruction. Experience Prior experience working with children in preschool or daycare settings is essential; familiarity with toddler care is highly valued. Demonstrated knowledge of early childhood education practices such as curriculum development, classroom management, behavior management, and child development instruction. Experience teaching physical education or tutoring young children is a plus. Background in special education or early intervention programs enhances your ability to support diverse learning needs. Strong communication skills for effective parent communication and teamwork within an educational community. Certification in first aid and CPR is required; additional credentials in Montessori teaching or childhood development are advantageous. Proven ability to adhere to mandated reporting laws and maintain confidentiality regarding student information.
