Overview We are seeking a passionate, nurturing, and reflective toddler teacher to join our vibrant Reggio-inspired early childhood community. Our program views children as capable, curious, and creative learners and values relationships, collaboration, exploration, and the unique ideas and perspectives each child brings to the classroom. In this role, you will create a warm, engaging, and thoughtfully prepared environment where toddlers feel a strong sense of belonging and are encouraged to explore, wonder, experiment, and express themselves in many ways. You will observe and listen closely to children, use their interests and questions to inform curriculum, and work collaboratively with colleagues and families to support each child's social, emotional, cognitive, physical, and creative development. This is a paid position offering an exciting opportunity for an educator who is passionate about early childhood education and inspired by a child-centered, play-based, and inquiry-driven approach to learning. Responsibilities Build meaningful, responsive relationships with children, recognizing each child as a capable and competent learner. Create a nurturing, inclusive, and thoughtfully designed classroom environment that invites exploration, independence, collaboration, and discovery. Observe and listen closely to children to identify their interests, strengths, questions, theories, and emerging ideas. Provide opportunities for children to explore literacy, mathematics, movement, nature, sensory experiences, art, music, and creative expression through hands-on, play-based experiences. View the environment as an important part of the learning experience and thoughtfully arrange materials, spaces, and provocations to encourage curiosity and investigation. Support children's social-emotional development through respectful, responsive guidance and positive behavior support. Encourage toddlers to develop independence, problem-solving skills, confidence, and a strong sense of agency. Document children's learning through observations, photographs, children's words, work samples, and other forms of pedagogical documentation. Reflect on documentation and collaborate with teaching teams to deepen children's learning and inform future curriculum experiences. Communicate regularly and meaningfully with families, building strong partnerships and sharing children's experiences, growth, interests, and milestones. Support an inclusive classroom community and adapt experiences and environments to meet the diverse developmental needs of individual children. Incorporate early intervention strategies and special education principles when appropriate, working collaboratively with families and specialists. Maintain accurate developmental records and incident reports while protecting children's privacy and confidentiality. Follow mandated reporting requirements, EEC regulations, and all health, safety, and child welfare standards. Collaborate with colleagues in a reflective teaching environment, contributing ideas, observations, and questions to ongoing curriculum development. Participate in creating a joyful classroom culture where children feel valued, heard, respected, and inspired to explore. Requirements EEC Teacher Certified First Aid & CPR Certified Proven experience working with young children in a classroom or childcare setting, preferably with toddlers or preschool-aged children. A strong understanding of early childhood development and developmental milestones. Interest in or familiarity with Reggio-inspired, emergent, play-based, or inquiry-based learning approaches . Ability to observe children thoughtfully and use observations to guide curriculum and interactions. Experience creating engaging, developmentally appropriate learning environments. Understanding of positive, respectful approaches to guidance and behavior support. Strong communication and relationship-building skills with children, families, and colleagues.
Pay:
$42,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
