In this role, you will create a nurturing, engaging, and educational environment for young children, fostering their social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development. Your enthusiasm for early childhood education will inspire children to explore, learn, and grow while ensuring their safety and well-being at all times. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on young learners during their foundational years. Duties Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum plans that promote literacy, math, physical education, and overall child development based on best practices in early childhood education. Create a safe, inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity, independence, and positive behavior management. Engage children in hands-on activities that support their social skills, emotional regulation, and cognitive growth. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about children's progress, milestones, and any concerns through meetings and written updates. Follow mandated reporting laws by accurately documenting any incidents or concerns related to child welfare or safety. Maintain classroom organization, cleanliness, and supplies to ensure a welcoming learning space. Collaborate with colleagues to plan special events, assessments, and developmental screenings such as standardized testing when appropriate. Skills Strong knowledge of child development principles and early childhood education methodologies including Montessori approaches. Proven experience working with children in preschool or daycare settings; familiarity with toddler care is highly desirable. Skilled in curriculum development tailored to diverse learning needs including special education and early intervention strategies. Excellent classroom management skills with the ability to foster positive behavior through effective behavior management techniques. Effective communication skills for engaging with children, parents, colleagues, and community partners. Ability to plan engaging lessons that incorporate literacy education, math concepts, physical activities, and childhood development milestones. Knowledge of mandated reporting laws related to child welfare and experience implementing health & safety protocols such as first aid and CPR certification. Experience working with standardized testing tools for early learners; familiarity with classroom experience in preschool settings is essential.
