Job Description

Hiring for 2 full time staff. Floater staff help in all rooms and once qualified the staff can have their own classroom if approved to be a lead teacher. Starting pay is 15.00 an hour for aides and goes up with qualifications and work experience. Hiring for lead Prek and school age child care teachers
MY FAVORITE PLACE, INC. STAFF RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Each staff member is responsible for the following: 1. Make each child feel comfortable, secure, welcome, and loved. Talk and interact with each child daily
  • playing or reading.
..one-on-one. Show concern and compassion for their individual needs. Enjoy each child for what they offer. A gentle pat on the back, touch on the head... makes each child feel special. 2. Provide for the education and enrichment of each child. Help plan and organize curriculum using discussion and resources. Keep children focused during learning times. Demonstrate interest and enthusiasm while executing lessons. Challenge children's creativity by providing hands-on activities. 3. Keep each child interested with multi-media, and a variety of stimulating activities. Read stories, sing songs, have transitional activities ready (poems, songs, finger plays...), play games, spontaneous art projects. 4. Help each child learn the rules of health and safety. Strictly follow MFP safety rules and help teach children those rules. Help each child learn proper hand-washing procedures. Help each with toileting as needed. 5. Help each child learn the rules of being a good friend and good helper. Demonstrate and demand good manners. Teach problem solving skills. Help children learn and follow MFP rules. Make yourself an outstanding example of a good citizen. 6. Assist each child with personal hygiene. Take each child to the bathroom in case they need help. Wash faces when needed, help each child learn to wash own face. Keep children's clothes tidy

8. Know where to find emergency phone numbers and first aid supplies. Permission required before calling parents. 9. Keep your classroom clean Clean up after each snack, meal, or activity. Follow daily/weekly cleaning lists. 10. Keep your classroom orderly. Tidy centers as needed by putting all toys and materials in appropriate places. Teach children to clean up after themselves. 11. Take an active role in classroom activities: Help with daily learning activities

Help each child with lunch. Help each child with nap. 12. Arrive at the center on time to "get ready" before your shift begins. 13. Read and follow CCA regulations at all times. Remind other staff if they seem to be slipping. 14. Interact with each parent daily. Refer parents' complaints to the director. Positively discuss each child's day with his/her parents daily. 15. Keep detailed notes and evaluations of progress for each child. 16. Take necessary courses for further training. 12 hours of continued education required each year. 17. Follow ethical and professional practices in working with children, parents, and co-workers. Be a cooperative staff member

Discuss concerns immediately with appropriate person. Do not talk about children, parents, and co-workers in public. Love and care for each child as if your own. The goal of My Favorite Place is to instill l love of learning that will benefit children throughout their lives, while providing a sage, happy, environment and worry-free, loving, child care for your precious children. Staff evaluations are done each year on the anniversary date of being hired. Example hired in January then every January evaluation will be done. ' '
