Job Description

Are you patient, energetic, and love working with kids? Mt. Vernon After School Program is hiring a reliable, responsible Assistant to support our Program Director as we grow.

Responsibilities:

Supervise children (grades K-5) indoors and outdoors under the Director's direction
Lead and assist with games, crafts, homework help, and other activities
Help maintain a safe, welcoming environment for all children

Schedule:

Afternoons, Monday-Friday, 2:30-5:30 PM, starting August 31, 2026
Early-release school days, 11:30 AM-5:30 PM (scheduled in advance)

Requirements:

Minimum age 16
Experience working with children in grades K-5 preferred
CPR and First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain within [X] days of hire)
Must pass a background check as a condition of employment
All staff are mandated reporters of child abuse/neglect

Pay:

From $15.10 per hour
