Job Description
Are you patient, energetic, and love working with kids? Mt. Vernon After School Program is hiring a reliable, responsible Assistant to support our Program Director as we grow.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise children (grades K-5) indoors and outdoors under the Director's direction
- Lead and assist with games, crafts, homework help, and other activities
- Help maintain a safe, welcoming environment for all children
Schedule:
- Afternoons, Monday-Friday, 2:30-5:30 PM, starting August 31, 2026
- Early-release school days, 11:30 AM-5:30 PM (scheduled in advance)
Requirements:
- Minimum age 16
- Experience working with children in grades K-5 preferred
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain within [X] days of hire)
- Must pass a background check as a condition of employment
- All staff are mandated reporters of child abuse/neglect
