Description:

Entech Staffing Solutions is currently searching for a Certified Early Childhood Educator for our client in Flint, MI. Purpose of Role The Lead Teacher plans and implements classroom programs for children in accordance with the Child Development Centers policies and philosophy. Reports to the Site Director. Anticipated Schedule (days/hours): Monday - Thursday, 7:15 am to 5:15 pm

Key Responsibilities:

Plan and implement classroom programs and developmentally appropriate curriculum. Support the individual needs, interests, abilities, and learning styles of children. -Provide daily small- and large-group activities and outdoor learning opportunities. Apply knowledge of child development and appropriate behavior interventions. Maintain organized, safe, and appropriate indoor and outdoor learning environments. Work with the teaching team, Site Director, and Site Coordinator to support program quality and licensing requirements. Communicate with parents and support parent-teacher conferences, home visits, and parent education activities as required. Maintain child records, developmental screenings, assessments, and Individual Education Plans. Complete monthly newsletters and ongoing child evaluations using the High Scope Child Observation Record (COR). Maintain confidentiality of children, parents, and staff. Attend staff meetings, training, conferences, and professional development activities. Ensure compliance with child care licensing laws, grant requirements, and applicable program standards. Participate in team teaching and shared classroom housekeeping responsibilities. Follow the NAEYC Code of Ethical Conduct and Center policies. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

Valid Michigan teaching certificate with Early Childhood (ZA or ZS) endorsement;

  • or•valid Michigan teaching certificate with a valid CDA credential; •or•bachelors degree in Child Development/Early Childhood Education with preschool teaching specialization or within three semesters of completion.

One year of experience working with children in a licensed childcare facility. Knowledge of High Scope preschool curriculum. Successful student fieldwork/student teaching experience at a nationally accredited early childhood education center. Meet Department of Social Services Center Licensing Standards for health and staff. Ability to read, write, and speak English. Ability to lift/carry approximately 40 pounds. Ability to work indoors and outdoors as needed.

Preferred Requirements:

Bachelors degree in Early Child Development. One year of experience working with children in a licensed childcare facility. #gb
