Under the supervision of the Center Administrator and Assistant Center Administrator, and following an approved curriculum, this position provides for quality early childhood learning experiences. Position will provide, plan for, implement and integrate child development activities for assigned children in such a manner that contributes to their growth and development in accordance with best practices for serving infants/toddlers and Head Start Performance Standards. Responsible for no more than four (4) infants/toddlers at a given time; however , this may require the supervision of children not directly assigned to the Child Care Provider. Supervise volunteer workers in the classroom. Inform Center Administrator or Assistant Center Administrator of staffing needs and changes immediately. Guidelines Minimum educational requirement of associate or bachelor's degree in early childhood education or a related area that includes a minimum of six (6) classes focusing on infant/toddler development. Two years experience in preschool classroom with ability to adapt curriculum to meet the needs of all children including at-risk, special needs, gifted, and culturally diverse populations. Oral and written communication skills which facilitate and support positive feedback from parents and between staff at all operational levels. Ability to relate to clients from diverse populations.
