Essential Duties and Responsibilities The Meadowlark Assistant Director plays a pivotal role in maintaining the educational quality and operational excellence of our early childhood center. While assisting the Director with overall administration and licensing compliance, this role serves primarily as the instructional leader, focusing heavily on mentorship, curriculum implementation and alignment, and day-to-day classroom support. Applicants must meet the criteria to be licensed in the State of Nebraska as a Child Care & Preschool Program Director. Primary Duties
Coaching & Mentoring:
Conduct regular, structured classroom observations to provide constructive feedback, model positive teaching practices, and foster professional growth.
Professional Development:
Design and facilitate workshops on age-appropriate pedagogy, classroom management, child development milestones, and emergent curriculum planning.
Onboarding & Orientation:
Guide new teaching staff through center policies, curriculum standards, and best practices to ensure smooth integration into the team.
Individualized Growth Plans:
Partner with educators to set annual goals, track performance, and identify growth opportunities aligned with early learning standards. Secondary Duties
Curriculum & Assessment Guidance:
Review weekly lesson plans to ensure alignment with developmental milestones, diversity principles, and engaging instructional strategies.
Behavioral & Inclusion Support:
Step in to assist teachers with challenging classroom dynamics, offering strategies for positive behavior guidance and individual student accommodations.
Resource Provisioning:
Ensure teachers have the physical materials, educational technology, and sensory tools required to execute rich learning experiences.
Coverage & Presence:
Maintain an active daily presence in classrooms, stepping in during transitions, staff breaks, or teacher absences to preserve low teacher-child ratios and maintain continuity.
Community Events:
Help plan events throughout the year and be the lead spokesperson for the center Christian Daycare/Preschool Focus
Develop and provide opportunities for spiritual growth of staff and students
Equip all areas of the center to reflect a Christian environment
Engage regularly with your home church and teach the faith in your home
Work with Beautiful Savior Pastors and Staff for chapel and other opportunities
Education/ Qualifications:
Hold an AA or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Education, or Child Development
Have 5-7 years of experience in a preschool or child care center with at least 100 students (preferably)
Pay:
$20.00 - $22.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
