Job Description

Benefits:
Health insurance Opportunity for advancement Training & development Vision insurance 401(k) Dental insurance Come grow with us! Under the Magic Pine Tree is looking for a dependable, curious, and caring person to join our Gardnerville preschool team. You don't need years of early childhood experience to be successful here. Some of our strongest teachers began in support roles, learned alongside experienced educators, and grew into leading their own classrooms. What matters most to us is finding someone who genuinely enjoys young children, wants to learn, can be counted on by their team, and is interested in becoming really good at this work. What teaching looks like at Under the Magic Pine Tree We are a Reggio-inspired early childhood program serving children from infancy through age five. We believe children are capable, curious learners—and that a teacher's job is much more than supervising children or keeping them busy. Our teachers build relationships, observe children's interests, create engaging environments, ask questions, explore alongside children, and help children learn how to navigate relationships, emotions, challenges, and the world around them. You do not need to know the Reggio Emilia approach before you arrive. We will teach you. We are much more interested in whether you are curious, coachable, dependable, and willing to learn. You may be a great fit for our team if you: Genuinely enjoy spending your day with young children. Are dependable and understand that your coworkers and children count on you to be at work. Can receive feedback without becoming defensive—and put that feedback into practice. Notice what needs to be done and are willing to jump in. Stay calm, respectful, and kind even when a child is having a difficult moment. Are curious about why children behave, communicate, and learn the way they do. Want to work as part of a team rather than simply work alongside one. Are willing to clean, organize, reset environments, change diapers or assist with toileting, prepare meals/snacks, and do the less glamorous parts of caring for young children. Want to keep learning and developing your skills. Are looking for somewhere you can contribute, grow, and stay. What you'll do As a Preschool Teacher, you will work alongside other educators to: Build warm, responsive relationships with children. Engage with children throughout play, routines, meals, outdoor time, and learning experiences. Help create inviting classroom environments and learning experiences based on children's development and interests. Support children as they learn to communicate, solve problems, regulate emotions, and build relationships. Maintain a clean, safe, organized classroom. Participate in ongoing training, coaching, and professional development. Communicate and collaborate with your teaching team and school leadership. Support classroom routines including meals, rest time, cleaning, diapering, and toileting as appropriate for the age group. Want to grow in early childhood education? We love developing teachers. Employees who demonstrate reliability, professionalism, strong relationships with children, teamwork, coachability, and initiative may have opportunities to take on additional responsibilities and pursue leadership roles. We also offer professional development and apprenticeship pathways that can help employees build early childhood credentials while working. You don't have to arrive as a lead teacher. You do have to arrive ready to learn. Growth is available here—but the classroom comes first.
