We are seeking reliable and nurturing substitute teachers to provide high-quality care and education in the absence of regular staff. As a substitute at our daycare center, you will help maintain a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate environment for children ranging from infants to preschool age.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and Ensure Safety:
Monitor children at all times and ensure a safe and healthy environment. Follow established safety procedures, including emergency drills and sanitation protocols.
Support Daily Routines:
Assist with or lead daily routines, including meals, naps, playtime, and diapering/toileting. Help maintain classroom structure and schedules. Engage with
Children:
Interact positively with children through play, storytelling, art, and other developmentally appropriate activities. Foster social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
Follow Lesson Plans:
Implement lesson plans provided by the lead teacher or center director. Adapt to the needs of the classroom while maintaining consistency and structure.
Communication:
Communicate professionally with staff, children, and parents when appropriate. Report any concerns or incidents to the lead teacher or center director.
Maintain Cleanliness and Organization:
Help clean and sanitize toys, surfaces, and materials. Support in organizing classroom supplies and maintaining a tidy environment.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required Previous experience working with young children preferred Ability to pass background checks and meet state licensing requirements Flexibility to work on short notice Patience, reliability, and a caring attitude On-call; hours may vary week-to-week depending on staffing needs Shifts may include mornings, afternoons, or full days (center hours typically 6:30 am-6:15 pm)- No more than 8hr shift per day
