Mission Statement At Calvary Chapel Academy, we are dedicated to creating a nurturing environment where young hearts and minds grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Through creative activities, hands-on experiences, and Biblical teachings, we aim to inspire curiosity, build character, and develop a love for God, learning, and each other. In partnership with parents, we seek to encourage each child to grow in faith, wisdom, and kindness, and to prepare them for a successful future in Christ. We believe that every child is created by God with unique gifts and purpose. Therefore, we strive to cultivate a love for learning while laying a strong foundation in Biblical truth. We teach from a Biblical worldview, integrating faith into every subject and activity. Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and energetic Preschool Teacher to inspire young learners and foster a nurturing, engaging classroom environment. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and implementing developmentally appropriate lesson plans that promote early childhood education, social-emotional growth, foundational skills, and a love for Jesus. Your enthusiasm and dedication will help children develop a love for learning while ensuring their safety, well-being, and individual needs are met. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact during the critical early years of development. Duties Develop and execute creative, age-appropriate curriculum plans that incorporate Bible lessons, prayer, literacy education, math, physical education, and social skills. Create a safe classroom environment that encourages exploration, independence, and positive behavior management. Implement classroom management strategies to maintain discipline and foster respectful interactions among students. Engage in child development instruction to support cognitive, emotional, and physical growth tailored to each child's unique needs. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about student progress, behavior, and developmental milestones through meetings and written updates. Maintain compliance with mandated reporting laws related to child welfare and safety protocols. Collaborate with colleagues to plan lessons, organize activities, and ensure a cohesive educational experience for all students. Provide first aid and CPR when necessary to ensure the health and safety of children in your care. Expectations Have a personal, growing relationship with Jesus Christ. Model Christ-like behavior in speech, attitude, and action. Begin each day with prayer or a Bible devotion. Incorporate Scripture and Biblical principles naturally throughout lessons. Participate in church services, prayer times, and school events. Demonstrate grace, love, and patience with students and families. Encourage children to see Jesus as their friend and Savior. Skills Strong knowledge of early childhood education principles, childhood development, and preschool teaching methodologies. Experience (preferred) working with children, including toddlers and preschoolers. Proficiency in curriculum development, lesson planning, classroom management, and behavior management techniques. Excellent communication skills for effective parent communication and teamwork with colleagues. Ability to implement literacy education strategies effectively while fostering a love for reading among young learners. Knowledge of mandated reporting laws related to child safety and welfare compliance. Private school experience or similar educational settings is a plus but not mandatory.
