Job Description

Position Summary The Infant Teacher is responsible for creating a safe, loving, and nurturing classroom environment for infants. This teacher supports each child's physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development through responsive caregiving, age-appropriate activities, and strong communication with families. The Infant Teacher helps ensure that every child feels secure, cared for, and encouraged as they grow and explore. Key Responsibilities Provide attentive, loving, and responsive care to infants throughout the day Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment Follow feeding, diapering, sleeping, and care schedules based on each child's individual needs Support infants' developmental milestones through play, sensory activities, tummy time, music, reading, and interaction Build trusting relationships with children and families Observe and document children's growth, development, and daily activities Communicate with parents regularly about feeding, diapering, naps, milestones, and overall well-being Ensure constant supervision and maintain proper staff-to-child ratios at all times Follow all state licensing regulations, health and safety procedures, and center policies Sanitize toys, equipment, and classroom materials daily Work collaboratively with co-teachers and administration to maintain a positive classroom culture Attend staff meetings, trainings, and professional development sessions as required Qualifications High school diploma or GED required CDA, associate degree, or coursework in Early Childhood Education preferred Experience working with infants in a childcare setting preferred Warm, patient, nurturing, and dependable personality Strong understanding of infant care and development Ability to lift, carry, and care for infants safely throughout the day Ability to communicate professionally with parents and team members CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain it Skills and Attributes Loving and nurturing demeanor Strong communication skills Patience and attentiveness Dependability and professionalism Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment Team player with a positive attitude Physical Requirements Ability to lift infants and classroom equipment as needed Ability to sit on the floor, bend, stoop, and stand for extended periods Ability to respond quickly to children's needs in the classroom Work Environment This position works directly with infants in an early childhood classroom setting. The Infant Teacher is expected to create a warm, engaging, and developmentally appropriate environment where children feel safe, loved, and supported.
Pay:
$15.00 - $20.00 per hour
