Were seeking a mature, dependable, energetic, and safety-focused Van Driver & School-Age Teacher to join our team. This is a part-time split-shift position Monday through Friday and is ideal for someone who enjoys working with school-age children, has a strong driving record, and wants a consistent part-time schedule. This position is more than driving a van. When you are not transporting students, you will help create an engaging environment for our school-age children through structured indoor and outdoor activities. Requirements Valid Texas Driver's License Acceptable driving record Ability to safely operate a 15-passenger van Ability to meet childcare transportation requirements Ability to pass all required background checks Reliable transportation to and from work Availability Monday through Friday for both portions of the split shift We are not looking for someone who simply wants to drive children from Point A to Point B. We want someone who understands that our school-age students deserve a safe driver AND an engaging adult who can make their before- and after-school experience fun, structured, and meaningful. Schedule Schedule Monday-Friday | Split Shift This position requires availability for: Morning school transportation Afternoon school pick-up Before/after-school supervision and activities Applicants must be comfortable working a split schedule , meaning you will work in the morning, have a break during the middle of the day, and return for the afternoon shift. Responsibilities Safely operate the childcare van, adhering to all traffic laws and safety protocols, including first aid and CPR procedures when necessary Transport children to school, extracurricular activities, and special events with punctuality and care Supervise children during transit and ensure their safety at all times through vigilant child supervision and behavior management techniques Create engaging, age-appropriate activities that promote childhood development, including outdoor play, arts, crafts, and youth group activities Maintain accurate attendance records, transportation logs, and incident reports in compliance with safety standards Foster a positive environment by implementing classroom management strategies that support social-emotional growth Collaborate with team members to plan and facilitate youth programs that encourage leadership, teamwork, and personal growth The Van Driver will: Safely operate a 15-passenger childcare van Transport children to and from local elementary schools Complete required transportation and attendance documentation Perform required vehicle safety checks Maintain safe loading and unloading procedures Ensure every child is properly accounted for Follow all transportation, licensing, and center safety procedures Maintain a professional and calm environment while transporting children Communicate professionally with center leadership and families Maintain excellent attendance and punctuality Our Ideal Candidate We are looking for someone who is: Mature and responsible Dependable and punctual Energetic and able to actively engage with children Safety-conscious Patient with school-age children Comfortable driving a 15-passenger van Able to manage a group of children appropriately Creative and willing to lead activities instead of simply supervising Professional when communicating with parents, schools, and center leadership Comfortable working a Monday-Friday split shift Skills/School Age Responsibilities When working with our school-age students, you will: Supervise children in a safe and positive environment Lead fun and engaging indoor activities Participate in outdoor games and physical activities Assist with homework or quiet learning activities when appropriate Facilitate arts and crafts, games, group challenges, STEM activities, reading, and creative projects Build positive relationships with students Help maintain an organized school-age classroom Encourage respectful behavior and positive peer interactions Proven experience working with children in educational or childcare settings, including teaching young children or facilitating youth programs Strong classroom management skills combined with behavior management techniques to create a safe and inclusive environment Knowledge of first aid protocols, CPR certification, AED operation, and emergency response procedures Experience with special education needs or childhood development theories is highly desirable Excellent child supervision skills with the ability to engage children in meaningful activities outdoors or indoors Demonstrated team leadership abilities to work collaboratively with colleagues and support youth development initiatives Background in camp experience or theater experience that enhances activity facilitation skills Ability to handle multiple responsibilities efficiently while maintaining a lively, positive attitude Supervise children in a safe and positive environment Lead fun and engaging indoor activities Participate in outdoor games and physical activities Assist with homework or quiet learning activities when appropriate Facilitate arts and crafts, games, group challenges, STEM activities, reading, and creative projects Build positive relationships with students Help maintain an organized school-age classroom Encourage respectful behavior and positive peer interactions This role is ideal for motivated individuals passionate about nurturing children's growth while ensuring their safety during transportation.
