About us Piedmont Child Care Center in Upperville, VA is a non-profit center serving up to 82 children, ages 6 weeks to 12 years. Established in 1984, we strive to provide high quality education and care to the children of our community. Teacher Assistant Full Time Teacher Assistant needed as a Floater in all classrooms, Monday-Friday, 10am-6pm. Responsibilities include assisting the Lead Teacher in carrying out lesson plans and implementing the daily program. This includes supervising and playing with children, helping with cleaning, diapering, mealtimes, and carrying out lesson plans. Must be comfortable working with any age group. Must have experience in a child care setting, as well as knowledge of early childhood development. CDA or other formal education preferred, but not required. Must be reliable, patient, calm, and love working with children. Benefits available after trial period, including medical insurance and paid time off. Weekends/Holidays off. Responsibilities Meet children's daily physical, emotional, and social needs Treat all children with dignity and respect Supervise the classroom according to the plans of the Lead Teacher Meet each child's cognitive needs by reading to, playing with, and entertaining Helping with meals, snacks, diapering, and using potty Maintain professional attitude, behavior, and dress at all times Maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards Skills Proven experience as a Teacher/Caregiver in child care setting Excellent understanding of the principles of child development Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms Excellent communication and instructional skills Cool-tempered, friendly and reliable CDA preferred, but not required Benefits Employee discount for children Paid vacation, Holidays, and sick time Health insurance Assistance in professional development Guaranteed 40 hours per week Free lunches and snacks A great working environment!
