4K Teacher (Community Collaborative Site) Northern Door Children's Center | Sister Bay, Wisconsin Do you love working with four-year-olds and helping young children build confidence, independence, curiosity, and a love of learning? Northern Door Children's Center is seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and dedicated 4K Teacher to join our team as a Community Collaborative Site. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with children, families, fellow early childhood educators, and community partners to provide a high-quality 4K experience in a nurturing early childhood setting. About the Position As a 4K Teacher at Northern Door Children's Center, you will help create a classroom environment where children feel safe, valued, supported, and excited to learn. You will work collaboratively with other educators to provide developmentally appropriate learning experiences that prepare children for kindergarten while recognizing that four-year-olds learn best through a combination of play, exploration, hands-on experiences, meaningful relationships, and intentional instruction. The 4K Teacher will support children's growth across all areas of development while building strong partnerships with families and collaborating with the community 4K program. Key Responsibilities Plan and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate learning experiences for four-year-old children Support children's kindergarten readiness through purposeful play, hands-on exploration, creativity, and intentional teaching Provide literacy instruction using evidence-based practices aligned with the Science of Reading, including phonemic awareness, phonics, vocabulary, fluency, and comprehension Provide opportunities for children to develop early math, science, language, motor, problem-solving, and self-help skills Foster children's social-emotional development through positive guidance, nurturing relationships, and responsive teaching practices Create an inclusive classroom environment where every child feels welcomed, respected, and supported Observe children's development and progress and use observations and assessments to guide learning experiences Support individual children's needs, interests, abilities, and learning styles Build strong, positive relationships with children and their families Communicate regularly with families about children's classroom experiences, development, and progress Collaborate with fellow teachers, center leadership, and community 4K partners to provide a consistent and high-quality educational experience Participate in collaborative planning, meetings, professional development, and center-wide activities Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and welcoming classroom Follow all center policies and applicable licensing, health, safety, and 4K program requirements Qualifications We are looking for an educator who: Has a genuine passion for working with four-year-old children Has experience working with preschool or 4K-aged children Has knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate teaching practices Is patient, dependable, creative, energetic, and compassionate Has strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills Enjoys working as part of a team and collaborating with community partners Has a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a closely related field (preferred) Holds a Wisconsin DPI teaching license or is eligible for licensure (preferred) Has current CPR and First Aid certification or is willing to obtain certification Can successfully complete all required background screenings We encourage passionate early childhood educators to apply even if they do not meet every preferred qualification. Compensation & Benefits Pay:
$25.00-$28.00 per hour, depending on education and experience.
