Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Afternoon Float to join our vibrant early childhood education team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for young children during the afternoon hours. Your enthusiasm and expertise will help foster developmental growth, support individual needs, and promote positive learning experiences. Duties Supervise and care for children in a preschool or daycare environment, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times Implement age-appropriate activities that promote childhood development, including play-based learning and educational exercises Maintain classroom management by organizing materials, managing routines, and encouraging positive behavior through effective behavior management strategies Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding children's progress, behaviors, and daily activities to foster strong partnerships Follow mandated reporting laws by accurately documenting any concerns related to child safety or well-being Administer first aid or pediatric first aid as needed, responding promptly to minor injuries or health issues Support children with special needs or disabilities by adapting activities and providing individualized attention in accordance with their care plans Experience Prior experience working with children in daycare, preschool, or early childhood education settings is required. Knowledge of childhood development principles and child supervision techniques is essential Experience with classroom management, behavior management, and child development instruction will enhance your effectiveness in this role Familiarity with special education practices and working with children with disabilities is a plus Certification in first aid and CPR (including pediatric first aid) is required or highly desirable Previous nannying or babysitting experience demonstrating responsibility for young children's safety and engagement is valuable Understanding of mandated reporting laws and early childhood education standards ensures compliance and best practices in childcare Join us as an Afternoon Floater to inspire young minds, support families, and contribute to a joyful learning environment!
