Job Summary Job Summary Under general supervision, the Language Arts Specialist supports teacher and student learning through professional development and ongoing collaboration around instruction. This position classification requires extensive knowledge in professional development and facilitation, Common Core State Standards, assessment models, curriculum development and implementation, knowledge of research-based instructional strategies, and exceptional collaboration and facilitation skills. Current and valid California teaching credential: multiple subject K-6 or single subject English for grades 7-8 required
Minimum of five (5) years of teaching experience in corresponding grades in general education settings.
Ability to read, write, and speak Spanish (Preferred/Desired)
Master's degree or post-graduate work preferred
Three (3) current letters of recommendation (dated within the last 12 months, no supervisor required)
Copy of Transcripts (Conferral of Bachelor's degree)
CBEST Test Results or equivalent
Current Resume
Letter of Introduction
Possession of Reading Specialist Certificate or an advanced subject matter degree preferred
Experience in utilizing technology in instruction and professional development
