This position provides instruction and academic support to adult learners preparing to earn their High School Equivalency (HSE) diploma through the HiSET exam. The ideal candidate is someone who can explain academic concepts in an approachable way, adapt instruction to different skill levels, and encourage students as they work toward their educational goals. Primary Responsibilities Provide instruction in all five HiSET subject areas: Reading, Writing, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies. Prepare students for the HiSET exam using prepared curriculum, practice materials, and instruction aligned with HiSET standards. Teach adult learners with a wide range of academic backgrounds, abilities, and learning needs. Assess student progress through practice tests, classroom activities, and individual feedback. Provide one-on-one or small-group tutoring and academic support as needed. Maintain accurate attendance, student progress notes, testing information, and other required program documentation. Maintain a positive, respectful, and encouraging classroom environment. Required Qualifications Strong written and verbal communication skills in English. Ability to confidently teach/support instruction in Reading, Writing, Math, Science, and Social Studies at the high school equivalency level. Strong organization, time management, and classroom management skills. Ability to maintain accurate records and complete required documentation. Patience, professionalism, dependability, and a genuine interest in helping adult learners succeed. Preferred Qualifications Associate's degree in Education, or a related field. Previous experience teaching, tutoring, or providing academic instruction. Experience working with adult learners, high school students, GED/HiSET preparation, or other alternative education programs. Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred , but not required. We are looking for an instructor who is patient, encouraging, flexible, and comfortable meeting students where they are academically while helping them make progress toward passing the HiSET exam.

Pay:

$21.00 per hour Expected hours: 20.0 per week Application Question(s): How many years of teaching, tutoring, or instructional experience do you have?
