Acceleration Resource Teacher (Early Literacy K-3) at Westmorland Union Elementary School District Print Application Deadline Until Filled Date Posted 9/28/2026 Contact Ana Coronado 760 344 4364 2383 Number of Openings 1 Salary Single Rate $162.33 Daily Length of Work Year 2026-2027 School Year Employment Type Part Time Job Summary Job Summary An Acceleration Resource Teacher (ART) is a certificated temporary employee with an appropriate credential, employed pursuant to Education Code section 44909 in programs and projects to perform services conducted under contract with public or private agencies, or categorically funded projects that are not required by federal or state statutes. This ART position will focus specifically on early literacy instruction and intervention for students in grades K-3. The position is grant funded and temporary, with continued employment dependent upon the availability of grant funding and the continued need for the grant-funded services. The ART will be under the direct supervision of the Principal and will provide targeted literacy instruction to students individually and in small groups. Instruction will focus on strengthening foundational literacy skills, including phonemic awareness, phonics, decoding, word recognition, fluency, vocabulary, reading comprehension, and early writing skills. The ART will use District-approved curriculum, instructional resources, assessment data, and progress-monitoring tools to identify student needs, provide targeted instruction, monitor student growth, and adjust instruction as needed. Instruction will supplement and reinforce the District's core literacy program and classroom instruction. The ART will collaborate with K-3 classroom teachers, administration, and other instructional staff to identify students needing additional literacy support, review student progress, coordinate interventions, and support the implementation of the District's early literacy goals. The ART will also perform other instructional duties as assigned or required to assist in and support the implementation of the school plan, categorical program requirements, and existing or newly established instructional programs. Any combination equivalent to:
bachelor's degree and a valid credential issued by the state of California. Bilingual preferred. Resume. Letters of Recommendation (3 current letters - within a year).
