This part-time position (5.5 hours daily) is designed for individuals who are passionate about supporting students' literacy development and fostering a positive learning environment. The Reading Aide will work closely with teachers and students to enhance reading skills, provide individualized support, and help create an engaging atmosphere for learning. Responsibilities
Assist in implementing reading programs and interventions for students struggling with literacy.
Provide one-on-one and small group instruction to reinforce reading skills and comprehension strategies.
Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents as needed.
Create a supportive and encouraging environment that promotes a love for reading.
Collaborate with teachers to develop and adapt instructional materials to meet diverse student needs.
Assist in maintaining an organized and resourceful reading area, including managing books and materials.
Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities to enhance instructional practices.
Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to foster a positive school community. Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in education, literacy, or related field preferred.
Previous experience working with children, preferably in an educational setting.
Strong understanding of reading development and effective instructional strategies.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and staff.
Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in supporting student learning.
Basic proficiency in using technology and educational software.
Availability to work part-time hours as scheduled.
