Nottingham School736 Garfield StOxford, PA 19363 Part Time $18.75 per hour Nottingham School Posted 9/11/2026 Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Reading Aide to join our team at Nottingham School. This part-time position (5.5 hours daily) is designed for individuals who are passionate about supporting students' literacy development and fostering a positive learning environment. The Reading Aide will work closely with teachers and students to enhance reading skills, provide individualized support, and help create an engaging atmosphere for learning. Responsibilities
- Assist in implementing reading programs and interventions for students struggling with literacy.
- Provide one-on-one and small group instruction to reinforce reading skills and comprehension strategies.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents as needed.
- Create a supportive and encouraging environment that promotes a love for reading.
- Collaborate with teachers to develop and adapt instructional materials to meet diverse student needs.
- Assist in maintaining an organized and resourceful reading area, including managing books and materials.
- Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities to enhance instructional practices.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to foster a positive school community. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in education, literacy, or related field preferred.
- Previous experience working with children, preferably in an educational setting.
- Strong understanding of reading development and effective instructional strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and staff.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in supporting student learning.
- Basic proficiency in using technology and educational software.
- Availability to work part-time hours as scheduled.
