Belhaven University is seeking a faculty member in Sports Medicine & Exercise Science. The position is open-rank and tenure-track. The Sports Medicine & Exercise Science curriculum integrates basic and applied sciences to prepare students for a wide range of careers in the healthcare and wellness industries. The bachelor's degree prepares students for graduate/professional programs and careers in fulfilling vocations such as physical and occupational therapy, athletic training, chiropractic medicine, exercise physiology, strength and conditioning, and personal training. Responsibilities Candidate responsibilities will include:

Teaching undergraduate Sports Medicine & Exercise Science courses, which may include Kinesiology, Medical Terminology, Injury Care & Prevention, Exercise Testing & Prescription, Biomechanics, Sport & Exercise Nutrition, Exercise Physiology, Physiology & Psychology of Movement, and Professional Development. Supervising student clinical observational/shadowing experiences. Serving as an advisor and mentor regarding student academic plans and career paths. Serving as an advisor to the student pre-professional club. While not required, candidate will be encouraged to conduct externally funded research and/or other scholarly activities, such as journal publications, conference presentations, etc. Qualifications A Ph. D. in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, Human Performance, or related discipline is required. Applicants must be able to articulate a Christian worldview in one's teaching and academic discipline and fully support the University vision, mission and statement of faith . The candidate should contribute to the spiritual and academic fellowship of the University.
