Job Description
We are hiring a faculty member for Chemistry Georgia Highlands College (GHC) is one of the fastest growing in colleges in Georgia. Founded in 1970, GHC has grown to five physical locations, offering over 40 areas of study with associate degree, bachelor's degree, and online degree options. At Georgia Highlands College (GHC), we don't just educate-we power the future. Our School of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) is actively recruiting for one (1) Instructor/Assistant Professors of Chemistry (Tenure track). Faculty support and carry out the college's mission, values, and strategic priorities in compliance with the mandates and regulations of the University System of Georgia and all associated accrediting agencies. Specific essential duties of the Instructor / Assistant Professor position include, but are not limited to, teaching 30 credit hours or equivalent per year as assigned and assist with the preparation of materials and exams as needed, maintaining timely and proper communication with students, faculty, and staff of the college, managing courses through systematic use of appropriate syllabi and accurate, professional records in accordance with college policy, regularly reviewing and updating instructional materials based on new information, research, or discoveries in the discipline or in pedagogical approaches to teaching in the discipline. To qualify, incumbent must possess a master's degree or higher in Chemistry or closely related field or a graduate degree with 18 graduate hours in discipline. Starting pay is $45,000 - $50,000 (10-month position). GHC offers a comprehensive benefits plan which consists of a choice between four (4) health care plans, dental, vision.
