Category Schools - General Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into an exciting opportunity guiding young minds as a 6th Grade Science Teacher in a vibrant middle school setting near Waukegan, IL. This full-time, onsite role spans the academic year from August 17th through May 27th, 2027, focusing on foundational science concepts and nurturing curiosity among enthusiastic sixth graders. As part of a supportive educational community, you'll have the chance to deliver innovative lessons, engage students in hands-on experiments, and foster a lifelong love for learning.
Key Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Education or a related field Current Illinois Professional Educator License with the appropriate endorsement(s) Proven experience with curriculum design, lesson planning, and targeted instruction Strong communication skills, both written and oral Passion for inspiring middle school students and making scientific concepts approachable and exciting
Primary Responsibilities:
Develop and implement engaging 6th-grade science curriculum aligned with state standards Utilize differentiated instruction to meet diverse student needs and learning styles Foster a positive, supportive classroom environment conducive to learning Collaborate with colleagues to enhance interdisciplinary opportunities within the school Assess student progress regularly, providing constructive feedback and support for growth Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to encourage academic achievement Experience the rewards of sparking curiosity and growth at a crucial stage in students' educational journeys. This is an onsite-only opportunity—virtual or remote candidates are not being considered.
