Biology Teacher HS Salary Range:
Teacher Contract Salary Contract Length:
Contractual Year Position Summary:
This position requires a Biology 5-12 teacher's license to begin by teaching introductory Biology Science.
Immediate Supervisor:
Building Principal Job Description:
  • Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and develops workplace attitudes
  • Differentiate instruction to meet individual student learning styles
  • Plan and update the curriculum to meet changing IN state standards
  • Plan and update the curriculum to meet current industry standards
  • Demonstrate experience implementing innovative instructional programs
  • Utilize appropriate technology and effectively manage the daily use of technology by students to enhance instruction and communication.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and provide opportunities for parent involvement
  • Maintain accurate records and open communication with administrators of all high schools in regard to grades, attendance, and behavior
  • Manage the behavioral, social, and emotional issues of a diverse ethnic/racial student population
  • Integrate language arts and math skills into the agriculture curriculum
  • Actively participate in ongoing curriculum development
Qualifications:
  • Prior teaching experience in an urban setting preferred but not required
  • Curriculum and organizational skills required
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with students, faculty and administration.
  • May not currently be on a Performance Improvement Plan.
  • Works in standard office and school building environments.
  • Must be able to work regularly scheduled hours.
  • Must be able to handle stress.
  • Highly Qualified status in the subject to be taught
