OVERVIEW
Position Summary
The Broadfield Science Teacher will deliver engaging, standards-aligned instruction aligned with Montana Office of Public Instruction (OPI) Science Standards. This position plays a vital role in helping students develop scientific thinking, problem-solving skills, and an understanding of the natural world through inquiry-based learning and real-world applications.
Position Details
The ideal candidate will collaborate as part of a multidisciplinary team to develop lesson plans, implement curriculum, and monitor student progress. We are looking for an educator who is as passionate about the growth and development of the students in our care as we are.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Courses
Teach science courses such as:
Physical Science
Earth Science
Life Science
Biology
Environmental Science
General Science
Teaching
Align curriculum with Montana OPI Science Standards. Develop engaging, inquiry-based lessons that promote critical thinking and scientific reasoning. Incorporate laboratory investigations, demonstrations, technology, and hands-on learning experiences whenever appropriate.
Support
Support and monitor students using online learning platforms for credit recovery and elective coursework. Provide academic support and progress monitoring for students completing online courses. Collaborate with academic, residential, clinical, and support staff to support individualized student plans.
Records
Maintain accurate student records and comply with state reporting requirements.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
Valid Montana teaching license with appropriate Broadfield Science endorsement (or ability to obtain). Strong knowledge of science content and instructional best practices. Ability to engage and support diverse learners. Strong classroom management and organizational skills.

Student-centered instructional approach. Ability to provide consistency, structure, and emotional support. Strong communication and relationship-building skills. Ability to connect scientific concepts to real-world applications. Adaptability and collaborative mindset. Commitment to preparing students for postsecondary success and lifelong learning.
Preferred
Experience working in alternative, residential, or specialized educational settings. Experience with online learning platforms and credit recovery systems. Experience designing hands-on laboratory and inquiry-based learning activities.
