Job Description
We are seeking an engaging and knowledgeable Science and Health teacher for two homeschooled students in 6th and 9th grade. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in agriculture, environmental science, biology, horticulture, or a related field and enjoy making learning practical, hands-on, and relevant to everyday life.
Areas of instruction may include:
General and life sciences Biology, anatomy, and basic chemistry Nutrition, wellness, and healthy decision-making Agriculture, soil science, plant biology, and food systems Ecology, sustainability, and environmental stewardship Hands-on experiments, gardening, fieldwork, and project-based learning Ideal candidate: Has teaching, tutoring, homeschooling, or youth-education experience Possesses professional or academic experience in agriculture, horticulture, biology, environmental science, health, or a related discipline Can adapt instruction for both middle- and high-school levels Creates structured, engaging lessons with measurable learning goals Encourages curiosity, critical thinking, personal responsibility, and real-world problem-solving Is dependable, organized, patient, and comfortable working in a private-home environment Can assist with curriculum planning and student progress assessments Is willing to complete a background check A teaching credential is welcomed but not required. Relevant professional experience and the ability to connect with students are equally valued.
