Job Summary:
The Department of Chemistry invites applications for one or more fixed-term, non-tenure-track, full/part-time, Instructor positions to teach on a term-by-term basis for the 2026-2027 academic year. Some of these appointments may be reviewed for renewal or transition to an instructional position on an annual basis at the discretion of the Department Chair. Applications submitted to this recruitment pool are reviewed on an as needed basis. Qualified candidates will be contacted when positions become available. Instructors may be needed to teach courses, either on-campus or Ecampus, in the following areas: analytical, biological, bio-organic, general, environmental, materials, nuclear, Organic, and physical chemistry. The OSU Department of Chemistry plays a central role in the University's educational, research, and outreach missions, delivering nearly 100,000 student credit hours of instruction annually while maintaining a vibrant graduate program with approximately 100 PhD students. The Department conducts cutting-edge research and scholarly activities focused on all areas of chemistry important to biology, materials, and the environment, including analytical, biological, bio-organic, environmental, materials, nuclear, and physical chemistry. This dynamic setting is ideally suited for nurturing and supporting instructional faculty in their efforts to support the Department's educational mission, which impacts over 10,000 students each year. The College of Science provides a core instructional role at OSU, supporting the ideals of learning, discovery, and engagement that are the foundation of a land-grant university. The College embraces instruction and research in disciplines ranging from the physical, mathematical, and statistical sciences to the life sciences, grounded in unbiased inquiry and a dedication to discovery and innovation. Instruction Administer and teach up to 4 on campus or ecampus (training prior to teaching will be provided and is required) undergraduate courses Hold regular Office hours to assist students with coursework and answer questions regarding the curriculum Provide supervision/lead work for up to 5 Graduate or Undergraduate student employees Following college practices on early warnings, student feedbacks, and grading policies
