Job Summary We are seeking an energetic and dedicated 5th Grade Karate Instructor to inspire young learners through martial arts training, character development, and physical activity. Responsibilities Lead structured karate classes designed for 5th-grade students, emphasizing technique, discipline, and personal growth Develop age-appropriate lesson plans that incorporate martial arts fundamentals, behavior management, and teamwork activities Demonstrate proper karate techniques and ensure students understand safety protocols during training sessions Foster a positive, motivating atmosphere that encourages student participation and confidence-building Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding student progress, behavior, and class updates Maintain safety standards by supervising students closely and responding effectively to any injuries or emergencies using first aid and CPR skills Promote sportsmanship, respect, and perseverance among students while supporting their overall physical development Requirements Prior experience in martial arts instruction, specifically karate training at a beginner to intermediate level DOE fingerprints necessary Demonstrated ability to work effectively with children in educational or recreational settings Knowledge of behavior management techniques suitable for young learners Certification in first aid and CPR (or willingness to obtain upon hire) including AED operation Strong communication skills to engage with students, parents, and team members clearly and positively Experience teaching physical education or sports-specific training instruction is highly desirable Background in coaching or leading youth sports such as soccer, basketball, climbing or gymnastics is a plus Ability to maintain a safe environment while fostering fun, motivation, and discipline during classes Join us as a 5th Grade Karate Instructor to make a lasting impact on young students' lives!
