MGA has five campuses-Macon, Cochran, Dublin, Eastman, and Warner Robins, all located in central Georgia-and global outreach through its fully-online campus. Its enrollment of 8,400 students is largely comprised of students from most of Georgia's 159 counties. Department Information This position is housed in the Teacher Education and Social Work Department, within the Bachelor of Social Work program. Job Summary Middle Georgia State University (MGA), a Unit of the University System of Georgia, invites applications for a faculty position at the non-tenure track Lecturer of Social Work, commensurate with education and experience, to begin in fall 2027. At the non-tenure track Lecturer level, faculty teach a 5/5 course load, facilitate student advisement, and engage in service. This position will be situated on the Macon campus This position involves teaching across the Bachelor of Social Work curriculum, including field education courses. Teaching responsibilities may include day and/or weekend classes, and experience with online and hybrid course delivery will be a plus. Responsibilities Teach a 5/5 course load in alignment with CSWE accreditation standards Engage in student mentorship Develop courses and materials Participate in program meetings and events Engage in service Required Qualifications Required Educational Qualifications The successful candidate for this position must hold an Master's in Social Work from a CSWE accredited program Required Experience At least two years of post-MSW social work practice experience. Preferred Qualifications Preferred Experience Preference will be given to candidates with teaching experience at the college level Three or more years of practice experiences and an interest in child welfare. Required Experience Georgia licensure as an LMSW or LCSW is preferred but not required. Required Documents to Attach Resume or Curriculum Vitae that clearly demonstrates work history including two years of post MSW experience in the field of social work. List of three references Letter of Interest Transcripts from undergraduate and graduate degrees. Graduate transcripts should demonstrate completion of an MSW from a CSWE accredited program.
