Department of Race, Ethnic and Gender Studies (REGS) The Race, Ethnic and Gender Studies (REGS) Department in the School of Humanities and Social Sciences offers undergraduate students an interdisciplinary education focused on understanding how race, ethnicity and gender are related to group identities and experiences. Our courses prepare students to engage in dialogues on historical and contemporary social dynamics both in the U.S. and abroad, and to identify opportunities for constructive future change. REGS students are enrolled in various majors across the university. Job Description The Department of Race, Ethnic, and Gender Studies (REGS) at University of Missouri-Kansas City hires adjunct instructors to teach part-time on topics related to Race, Ethnicity, Gender, Class, and Sexuality. The position involves teaching undergraduate students in foundational and/or topical courses that help them to understand the ongoing issues in these areas. As an interdisciplinary department, the instructors may come from a variety of scholarly backgrounds. This is a part time, non-tenure track, non-benefit eligible academic position. The number of hours per week may vary depending on the opportunity. The appointment period is for the semester with consideration for reappointment. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications A M.A. or Ph.D. in the humanities or social sciences is required. Preferred Qualifications Experience teaching college/university courses at the undergraduate and/or graduate level. The REGS Department also values community service/work experience.
