Job Description:
Longwood University's Social Work undergraduate program is fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) and prepares generalist, entry-level Social Work Practitioners. The Department of Social Work and Communication Sciences and Disorders in the College of Education, Health, and Human Services invites applications for a tenure track, full-time faculty position (F0158) at the rank of Assistant Professor of Social Work. This position requires the skills, knowledge, and abilities to teach undergraduate social work courses that focus on generalist social work practice. Candidates who could support the development and delivery of a future Master's Degree of Social Work (MSW) program are strongly preferred. This position is located in Farmville, Virginia, and is required to work in person on Longwood University's campus. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Requirements:
Master's degree in social work (MSW) from a CSWE-accredited program. PhD preferred, in-progress doctoral candidates considered. Teaching experience in a CSWE-accredited program and post-MSW social work practice experience is required. Applicants must show clear evidence of excellence in teaching and service, and the potential for meaningful scholarship in social work.
Additional Information:
This position is a full-time, tenure-track instructional faculty position. The anticipated salary range for this position will be $68,000•$74,000 annually. A successful fingerprint-based criminal background investigation is required. AmeriCorps, Peace Corps, and other national service alumni are encouraged to apply.
