WORK-BASED LEARNING, TEACHER ON SPECIAL ASSIGNMENT
(TOSA) at Covina-Valley Unified School District Print Application Deadline Until Filled Date Posted 9/14/2026 Contact Kim Salas Number of Openings 1 Salary Pay Range $62,676 - $135,847 Annually Length of Work Year 184 day school year; plus 2 days orientation for new teachers Employment Type Full Time View Job Description Requirements / Qualifications Under the direction of the Career Technical Education Coordinator, coordinates and supports district Work-Based Learning programs and activities. Provides assistance to certificated staff and develops partnerships with employers, community organizations, workforce agencies, and postsecondary institutions to expand high-quality Work-Based Learning opportunities for students. Collaborates with district staff and community partners to support employment opportunities for students receiving special education services and students participating in the Adult Transition Program. May also assist recent graduates as they transition into employment related to their Career Technical Education pathways. Must have a valid California teaching credential authorizing service within the District, a California Career Technical Education Teaching Credential is desirable, experience with Work-Based Learning, Work Experience Education, Career Technical Education, internships, special education transition services, or career-connected learning programs is desirable, and three years of successful teaching experience. Covina-Valley Unified School District offers 3 different employer-paid HMO medical plans (Kaiser HMO, BlueShield of California Access HMO, and Trio HMO) to choose from as well as full dental, vision, and life insurance plans at no cost to all benefit-eligible employees. Extended coverage for your qualified dependents is also available at a low price. Employees who work 31+ hours/weekly also have the option to choose a low-cost PPO plan.
