Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) | San Bernardino, California

Job Description

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) in an education-focused environment near San Bernardino, CA. The ideal candidate will empower students with visual impairments, helping them access curriculum, maximize independence, and reach their fullest potential in academic and daily living skills.
Qualifications and Experience:
Valid, active teaching credential/licensure as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) Comprehensive knowledge of adaptive technology, Braille instruction, and accessible materials Previous experience working with children or youth who are visually impaired is highly preferred Strong communication abilities with students, families, and interdisciplinary teams Enthusiasm for fostering an inclusive and supportive classroom atmosphere
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs Teach Braille, orientation and mobility skills, and compensatory strategies for visual impairments Collaborate with general education teachers and related service providers to adapt instructional methods and materials Evaluate student progress and adjust instructional plans as required Provide guidance and support to families, equipping them with relevant resources Maintain thorough documentation in accordance with school and district requirements
