As a dedicated Special Education Teacher, you'll work with a K-12 caseload (mild to moderate, primarily students with Autism) in an inclusive, engaging environment spanning Westlake Village and Oxnard. Enjoy consistent, full-time hours (35-37.5 weekly) through the end of the school year, with valuable opportunities to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and truly impact students' academic and social success. Your role will focus on developing and implementing individualized education plans, engaging in regular communication with families, and collaborating with colleagues to create a supportive environment. Flexibility and compassion are essential as you tailor your teaching strategies to each student's unique strengths and needs.
Key Qualifications:
Valid California credential, Mild/Moderate or equivalent, and active Autism Authorization are required Experience working with K-12 students identified as having Autism and other mild to moderate disabilities Strong ability to create inclusive, engaging lesson plans Collaborative mindset and excellent communication skills Organized, adaptable, and invested in student-centered education
Core Responsibilities:
Assess students' skills and learning requirements Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Foster an inclusive classroom environment Monitor student progress and adjust interventions as needed Communicate effectively with families, staff, and service providers Maintain accurate records in line with state and district protocols Enjoy a pay range of $45-55 an hour, delivered via weekly paychecks.
