Job Description

Make a difference in students' lives by joining a school-based team as a Special Education Teacher for a full school year. Located close to New Milford, CT, this is a contract opportunity working 35 hours per week with dedicated paraeducator support in your classroom, allowing you to focus on individualized instruction and fostering a positive learning environment.
Qualifications:
Valid and current Connecticut State Certification as a Special Education Teacher is required Experience working with students who have diverse learning needs is strongly preferred Ability to differentiate instructional strategies to accommodate various learning styles Strong communication and collaboration skills, both with students and multidisciplinary teams Commitment to creating an inclusive, supportive, and engaging classroom environment
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to student needs Work closely with paraeducators to provide classroom support and facilitate student learning Monitor and assess student progress, maintaining accurate records and updating IEPs as required Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families to support academic and social-emotional growth Adapt curriculum and modify instructional resources to meet students' unique needs Participate in IEP meetings and ongoing professional development Enjoy a highly competitive hourly rate between $40 and $45, reflecting your experience and credentials.
