Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and energetic Lead VPK (Voluntary Prekindergarten) Teacher to inspire young learners and foster a love for discovery and growth. In this vital role, you will lead classroom activities, develop engaging curricula, and create a nurturing environment that promotes early childhood development. Your leadership will ensure that children receive high-quality educational experiences aligned with developmental standards, preparing them for future academic success. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on children's lives while working within a supportive team dedicated to early childhood education excellence. Duties Design and implement dynamic, developmentally appropriate lesson plans that incorporate curriculum development principles, including literacy, math, physical education, and social-emotional learning. Lead classroom activities that promote active learning, curiosity, and positive behavior management strategies to maintain an engaging environment. Collaborate with colleagues to develop individualized plans for children requiring special education or early intervention services. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to discuss children's progress, behavioral concerns, and developmental milestones, fostering strong home-school connections. Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws and maintain accurate documentation of student progress and incidents. Supervise and mentor assistant teachers or classroom aides, providing guidance on classroom management and child development instruction. Conduct assessments using standardized testing tools to monitor developmental progress and tailor instruction accordingly. Qualifications Proven experience working with young children in preschool or daycare settings, including classroom experience with toddlers and preschoolers. VPK instructor ceritification required. Strong knowledge of childhood development principles, early intervention strategies, and special education practices. Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development, lesson planning, behavior management, and classroom management techniques. Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, staff, and community partners. Valid certification in first aid and CPR; additional certifications in childhood welfare or mandated reporting laws are preferred. Experience teaching physical education or integrating movement into daily activities is a plus. Familiarity with standardized testing methods and literacy education best practices for early learners. Pay:
$18.00 - $22.00 per hour
