Category Schools - Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing - Telehealth Job Type Contract A full-time opportunity is available for a specialized educator skilled in supporting students who are deaf or hard of hearing, located in Richland, GA. This contract position focuses on providing telehealth and in-school instructional support, specifically designed to assist a kindergarten student with language development and American Sign Language (ASL) acquisition.
Responsibilities include:
Delivering individualized instruction to a kindergarten student who is learning basic signs and adjusting to communication via cochlear implant Supporting language acquisition and early ASL skills for a student with limited prior ASL knowledge Utilizing telehealth platforms alongside in-person teaching methods to optimize learning outcomes Collaborating with families and educational professionals to tailor instructional approaches Tracking student progress and adapting lessons to meet evolving needs Desired qualifications and experience: Certified Teacher for the Deaf/Hard of Hearing, with proven experience in early childhood education Proficiency in ASL and strategies for teaching students with cochlear implants or hearing devices Familiarity with telehealth service delivery in educational settings Strong communication and interpersonal skills geared toward working with young learners and their families Ability to implement individualized educational plans and monitor student development
