Key Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree (B.A.) required State certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) is mandatory Previous experience supporting children with visual impairments, ideally in a 1:1 or small-group setting Strong communication skills, patience, and resourcefulness Ability to adapt curriculum and teaching methods to meet the individual needs of visually impaired students Willingness to work collaboratively with educational staff, therapists, and families
Core Responsibilities:
Deliver individualized instruction to a pediatric student with visual impairment in accordance with Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals Develop accessible instructional materials, such as braille and tactile graphics Assess and document student progress; adjust teaching strategies as needed Consult with classroom teachers and related service providers to facilitate integration and appropriate accommodations Foster a supportive, inclusive, and positive learning environment Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of student goals
