Job Description
Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing provides instruction and support for elementary students with hearing impairments in a classroom setting. The role collaborates with specialists to implement individualized education plans and fosters an inclusive learning environment. The position contributes to student communication development and academic progress.
Key Responsibilities:
Support elementary students with hearing impairments in a school setting. Work collaboratively with speech-language pathologists, audiologists, and classroom teachers to implement individualized education plans. Use specialized techniques and tools to support students' communication needs. Foster an inclusive, supportive classroom environment conducive to learning and development. Monitor and document student progress regularly, adjusting instruction as needed.
Qualifications:
Valid Idaho teaching certification or SPED endorsement. Strong communication skills. Background check clearance. Availability to work daytime hours (7:30 am - 3:30 pm). Ability to adapt to school schedules and support elementary level students with hearing impairments.
Preferred Skills:
Familiarity with elementary school settings preferred.
