Work with students in Shelley schools, namely preschool and kindergarten, helping them achieve their goals in their daily school activities, Monday- Thursdays approximately 8:00 am- 3 pm . Start asap. Will be with young children, so must be able to get up and down from the floor. Contracted $12-16/hr for para-professional level; $20-25 for professional level depending on experience, bonuses for meeting attendance standards and fulfilling the school year. Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Para Professional to support students in their educational journey. The ideal candidate will work closely with teachers and other staff to provide assistance in the classroom, ensuring that students receive the guidance and support they need to thrive academically and socially. This role is particularly focused on working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, and other special needs, fostering an inclusive learning environment. Responsibilities Assist teachers in implementing lesson plans and adapting curriculum to meet the diverse needs of students. Provide one-on-one support to students, particularly those with IEPs, ensuring they understand classroom material. Facilitate communication between students and staff Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive behavior and engagement in the classroom. Support classroom management by helping maintain a structured and organized learning environment. Collaborate with educators to develop individualized strategies for literacy education, math, and other subjects. Participate in training sessions related to special education practices and early childhood development. Foster relationships with students to encourage their social-emotional growth and development. Experience Previous experience working with children in a classroom setting or childcare environment is essential. Familiarity with special education practices, including experience working with individuals with disabilities, autism, or developmental disabilities is highly desirable. Knowledge of curriculum development, lesson planning, and early childhood education principles is beneficial. Experience in behavior management techniques and classroom experience will be advantageous. Strong communication skills are required to effectively interact with students, parents, and staff.
