Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Learning Resource Paraprofessional to support students with diverse learning needs in a dynamic educational environment. In this role, you will work closely with teachers, special education staff, and other professionals to create an inclusive classroom experience that fosters growth, independence, and confidence for all students. Your enthusiasm and commitment will help ensure that students with disabilities or special needs receive the personalized support they require to succeed academically and socially. Responsibilities Assist teachers in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and curriculum modifications tailored to each student's needs. Provide direct support to students with disabilities, including physical assistance, behavioral management, and communication support such as American Sign Language when applicable. Support classroom activities by preparing materials, organizing learning stations, and helping facilitate literacy, math, and early childhood education lessons. Foster a positive learning environment through effective classroom management and behavior support strategies for students with behavioral disorders or autism spectrum disorders. Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other specialists to monitor student progress and adapt instructional approaches accordingly. Support students' social-emotional development by encouraging participation, promoting positive interactions, and reinforcing behavioral expectations aligned with the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). Handle confidential information responsibly while maintaining a respectful and nurturing atmosphere for all students. Requirements Experience working with children or students with disabilities in classroom or childcare settings. Knowledge of special education practices, including behavior management techniques and curriculum development for diverse learners. Familiarity with autism spectrum disorders support strategies, early childhood education principles, and classroom management skills. Ability to communicate effectively using verbal skills and American Sign Language preferred; strong writing skills are also essential. Background in Deaf education, Montessori methods, preschool or toddler care is a plus. Demonstrated ability to collaborate with educators and other professionals to support student success. Experience working within private school environments or supporting students with special needs is advantageous.
