Job Description TITLE:

Regional Safe School Teacher

DESCRIPTION:

Classroom teacher for Regional Safe School Program. Work with Program Coordinator to develop individualized learning program for up to 20 students in grades 6-12 using online curriculum to provide individualized academic plans for each student.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

State of Illinois License endorsed for secondary teaching (or ability to obtain) Ability to use technology effectively Knowledge and experience with behavior modification techniques, social emotional learning, and temperament and training to motivate at-risk youth Ability to work cohesively in a co-teaching classroom environment Ability to supplement online curriculum with hands-on activities and small group projects

WORK SCHEDULE

1.0 FTE; 185 day position; 180 school calendar, 5 non-school calendar days, 8 hours daily

COMPENSATION

$43,543.00 includes fully paid TRS, plus medical/dental, vision, and life benefits available.

DUTIES:

Essential Skills:

Ability to assess individual needs, establish realistic and appropriate goals and objectives, and design and implement a program for each student Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing sufficient to express ideas, thoughts, lesson material and instructions clearly to students, community and staff Ability to plan and conduct a system of continuous evaluation of each student progress Ability to maintain suitable learning environment including appropriate planning and organization of classroom Ability to keep accurate class records and submit reports in a timely manner Ability to direct and evaluate paraprofessionals and other support staff Ability to manage and prioritize multiple activities
