In this contract position, you will co-teach four sections of English Language Arts—two each for 7th and 8th grades—while managing a caseload of approximately 15 students. Qualifications and Experience:
Valid LBS1 Special Education Teacher certification required Experience working within a middle school setting preferred Strong background in co-teaching or collaborative classroom environments Ability to effectively manage a caseload and document student progress Knowledge of differentiated instruction and accommodations for diverse learners Excellent communication and teamwork skills Commitment to fostering inclusion, empathy, and respect among all students
Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver engaging, standards-based ELA instruction with a general education co-teacher Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and monitor progress towards goals Provide targeted support and interventions to meet students' varied needs Collaborate regularly with families, specialists, and school staff Maintain accurate documentation of student performance and required reports Contribute to a positive, productive classroom and school community This contract role offers the chance to make a difference in the lives of middle schoolers while advancing your own professional journey in special education.
