Virtual Teacher of the Visually Impaired in IN

Job Description

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A contract opportunity is available for a Visually Impaired Teacher specializing in telehealth services. This role supports K-12 students with visual impairments, delivering instruction and specialized assistance remotely to promote independence and academic success.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct virtual assessments and evaluations for students with visual impairments. Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique needs. Provide telehealth instruction in assistive technology, orientation and mobility, and daily living skills. Collaborate remotely with classroom teachers, parents, and support staff to ensure comprehensive educational support. Document student progress and maintain accurate records in compliance with educational standards.
Desired Qualifications:
Certification or licensure as a Teacher of Students with Visual Impairments (TVI). Experience delivering telehealth or remote educational services. Strong knowledge of assistive technology and adaptive tools for visually impaired students. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and manage virtual caseload efficiently.
Location:
Remote services based out of Alexandria, Indiana, with possible occasional visits as needed.
