Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a difference every day by supporting young learners in a welcoming school environment near Lexington, IN. This full-time contract position runs the entire school year and seeks two dedicated Special Education Teachers—one focused on Preschool/LD (Learning Disabilities) and another supporting students with moderate needs. With average caseloads, you'll have the opportunity to build meaningful relationships and truly see your impact.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Valid Special Education teaching certification (or eligibility) Experience working with preschool-aged children or students with learning disabilities, or moderate exceptional needs Strong skills in adapting curriculum and instructional strategies to meet diverse learning styles Patience, creativity, and commitment to fostering an inclusive and positive classroom environment Effective communication skills for collaborating with families, staff, and related service providers
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver tailored instruction, both individually and in small groups, guided by students' IEPs Plan and adapt lessons that support academic, social, and emotional growth Track student progress and document outcomes in alignment with school and district requirements Collaborate closely with general education teachers, therapists, and support staff Communicate regularly with families to ensure a consistent, supportive learning experience Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and relevant professional development Perks of this
