Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a difference in students' lives by supporting learners with diverse needs as a Special Education Teacher on a contract basis. In this vital role, you will develop and deliver individualized education program (IEP) plans while collaborating with families and school staff near Osceola, IN. You'll have the opportunity to build strong relationships, foster an inclusive environment, and promote each student's success.
Requirements:
Valid Special Education teaching license in Indiana (or ability to obtain) Previous experience working with students with varying disabilities preferred Familiarity with current best practices for special education, including differentiated instruction and IEP processes Strong written and verbal communication abilities Organizational skills and a patient, compassionate attitude
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs to meet the unique needs of each student Provide direct instruction, accommodations, and modifications as needed in both individual and group settings Work closely with general education teachers, support staff, and families to support student goals Maintain accurate records on progress, assessment, and compliance Participate in parent conferences, team meetings, and professional development opportunities Adapt teaching practices and classroom environment to ensure accessibility and engagement for all students
