Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make an impact supporting early childhood and elementary learners by bringing your expertise in special education to this full-time contract position near Americus, KS. This rewarding opportunity focuses on providing intensive support for students with autism in a nurturing classroom environment, fostering growth and inclusion. The assignment begins as soon as possible and continues through late May 2025, offering stability and the chance to build meaningful connections.
Desired Qualifications:
Holds a valid Kansas Special Education (SPED) teaching license Experience working in early childhood and/or elementary settings Skilled in developing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs) Familiarity with autism spectrum disorders and intensive skill-building strategies Adaptable, patient, and committed to best practices in special education Strong communication and collaboration abilities for partnering with fellow educators, families, and specialists
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver direct instruction and differentiated support to students in an early childhood and elementary intensive skills/autistic classroom Assess individual student needs and develop tailored IEPs aligned with district and state guidelines Implement evidence-based instructional, behavioral, and social-emotional strategies Create a positive, inclusive, and structured classroom atmosphere Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers Regularly communicate progress and challenges to parents/guardians and school teams Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with local and federal regulations This onsite role invites dedicated educators to collaborate with a supportive network focused on every learner's success.
