Job Description

Key Qualifications:
Active Kentucky Special Education License with a Visually Impaired (VI) endorsement. Experience working as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) in school settings is preferred. Strong skills in adapting curriculum, developing individualized education plans (IEPs), and utilizing assistive technology. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Exceptional communication and organizational abilities.
Responsibilities:
Provide direct instructional support to K-12 students with visual impairments across various school sites within the county. Assess students' individual needs and create customized learning strategies to promote educational success. Collaborate closely with general education teachers, special education staff, and families to facilitate accessible academic experiences. Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs, maintaining compliance with state and federal guidelines. Train staff and offer resources on best practices for supporting visually impaired learners. Stay current with the latest technologies and methodologies in vision education.
